7th Pay : Union Cabinet Approves Pay Hike of Supreme Court, High Court Judges
The judges of Supreme Court and 24 High Courts will too be able to get the benefit of pay hike under the 7th Pay Commission. On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its nod to the revision in the salaries, gratuity, allowances structure, and pension of the judges, who are working in and who have retired from the Supreme Court of India and the High Courts across the country. The decision is to implement recommendations by the 7th Central Pay Commission in respect of civil servants. The Cabinet approval, given in the meeting chaired by PM Modi today, will pave the way for necessary amendments in the two laws, namely Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958 and High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954. These two legislations deal with the salaries of Chief Justice of India (CJI) along with Judges of Supreme Court of India, and Chief Justices and all Judges of High Courts, respectively. The increase in the salary and allowance structure following this decision is set to benefit 31 judges of Supreme Court of India, including the CJI, along with 1079 judges of High Courts including the Chief Justices there. Apart from this, over 2500 retired Judges will also be benefited from this decision from this decision after their pension and gratuity is hiked in accordance with recommendations by the 7th Pay Commission. The cabinet has decided to implement the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission with respect to judges with retrospective effect from January 01, 2016. “Arrears on account of revised salaries, gratuity, pension and family pension w.e.f 01.01.2016 will be paid as one-time lump sum payment,” said a statement by the government.

Good news for central employees is now the minimum wage of Central employees is 21,000 / month. The central staff is eagerly waiting for this to be implemented from 1 April 2018. This will benefit 48 lakh central government employees. According to media reports, the official of a senior finance ministry said that after the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the salary of central employees is increasing. The increment will be effective from 1 April 2018. According to the report, the National Discrepancy Committee submitted its report in December to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.
It is noteworthy that according to the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Cabinet has already approved to increase the minimum wage from Rs 7000 to 18,000 rupees per month. Apart from this, the fitment factor has been increased 2.57 times. In spite of this, the demand for the central staff is that the minimum wage should be increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000 per month and increase the factum factor to 3.68 times instead of 2.57 times increase.
The central government employees are expected to increase the minimum wage in addition to the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission from April 2018 and the National Discrepancy Committee (NAC) is expected to submit its report to the Finance Ministry. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has agreed to increase the minimum wage beyond the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission and the process of implementing it is underway, sources said. Reserve Bank of India invites applications from eligible candidates for 526 posts of “Office Attendants” in various offices of the Bank. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive Test (Online Test) followed by Language Proficiency Test (in Regional Language) as per Annex-I. Please note that Corrigendum, if any, issued on the above advertisement, will be published only on the Bank’s website www.rbi.org.in. Educational Qualification: (as on 01/11/2017):i) A candidate should have passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from the concerned State/UT coming under the Regional Jurisdiction of the Recruiting Office to which he is applying (Refer Annex III). Such qualification should be from a recognized board.ii) In addition to the above, the candidate should be a domicile of the State/UT coming under the Regional Jurisdiction of the Recruitment Office to which he/she is applying for (Refer Annex III).iii) The candidate should be an undergraduate as on 01/11/2017. Graduates and candidates possessing higher qualification are not eligible to apply.iv) Bank reserves the right to call for any document in support of domicile status of the candidate.v) A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category should at least have passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) and rendered at least 15 years of defence service, provided they have not graduated outside the Armed Forces.vi) Candidates applying to a recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/UT falling under that office.

Pay Scale:
Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹10940/- per month in the scale of 10940 - 380 (4) -12460 - 440 (3) – 13780 – 520 (3) – 15340 - 690 (2) -16720 – 860 (4) – 20160 – 1180 (3) - 23700 (20 years) and other allowances, viz.; Special Compensatory Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Family Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Grade Allowance, etc. as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments for Office Attendants is approximately ₹ 22,339/-
